Umair adds another perspective on the Sexy Enterprise 2.0 debate:

Enterprise software is lame because it offers little potential for revolutionizing anything – market space, value propositions, industry economics, strategies, etc. That’s why software players are able to create less and less value – the marginal gains to software are shrinking because “enterprise software” only impacts relatively the lowest value of value activities.

This is what I find most interesting in wikis and other social software: their potential for “revolutionizing” processes, strategies etc. – and business models in a way. Yes, Wikinomics is more than a fancy title for a business book, it holds much more promise. And to add yet another view see this video of Wikinomics author Don Tapscott at Web 2.0 Expo in Berlin:
