That doesn&#8217;t mean that the software business as a whole is dying, but it has shifted permanently to new revenue models. [&#8230;] We still buy a lot of software, embedded in devices and services, but we don&#8217;t buy it as licenses.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yet, software companies are trying to hold the wheel back:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>a lot of people are spinning their wheels on long sales cycles, rather than innovating and delivering<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Seems to be an effort that may suspend business model death, but won&#8217;t cure the disease for sure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, software commoditization is rolling.
