It&#8217;s good to see it in the Business section (remember 2005? BusinessWeek titled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/magazine\/content\/05_31\/b3945418.htm\">Tomorrow&#8217;s B-School? It Might Be A D-School<\/a>) and I like the nice pragmatic end quote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt would be overreaching to say that design thinking solves everything. That\u2019s putting it too high on a pedestal,\u201d [&#8230;] \u201cBusiness thinking plus design thinking ends up being far more powerful.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yes, no point in making a management fad out of this. Whatever, <a href=\"http:\/\/dschool.stanford.edu\/\">Stanford&#8217;s d.school<\/a> gets mentioned (btw, there&#8217;s one at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hpi.uni-potsdam.de\/d-school\/home.html\">d.school at Potsdam<\/a> too), as is <a href=\"http:\/\/designthinking.ideo.com\/\">Tim Brown<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/ideo.com\/\">IDEO<\/a>. Well, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.design-management.de\/archive\/2008\/10\/design-thinking-and-the-likes\/\">we can&#8217;t do anything about that<\/a>, yet marvel when people like <a href=\"http:\/\/ic-pod.typepad.com\/design_at_the_edge\/\">Jim Rait<\/a> weigh in and put down <a href=\"http:\/\/www.design-management.de\/archive\/2008\/10\/design-thinking-and-the-likes\/\">pieces of wisdom in the comments<\/a> (and btw, explaining my fascination with both design-thinking and <a href=\"http:\/\/frogpond.de\/\">enterprise social software<\/a> for innovation and knowledge management processes) :<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The key to fast action is getting the knowledge building process to operate quickly \u2026 sort of Design Fast Action.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The design thinking meme is raging on, now there&#8217;s an article in the New York Times called &#8220;Design is more than packaging&#8220;.
